**Norwegian Wood - Tribute to the album Rubber Soul led by Austrian guitarist John Arman**

Rubber Soul is the sixth album by The Beatles. The album is considered one of the most significant turning points in the history of popular music, as it marks the transition of the band from a commercial pop and rock 'n' roll singles group to creating a cohesive and mature artistic rock based on the album format as a concept album. In this album, the band incorporated strong influences of folk rock and soul music for the first time and introduced the Indian sitar instrument to their work (in the song Norwegian Wood). Unlike previous albums, the lyrics became more creative, personal, and philosophical. Songs like Nowhere Man and In My Life touched on insecurity, memories, and nostalgia, not just simple love songs. Additionally, the picture of the band members on the cover was intentionally stretched and distorted, and the psychedelic design conveyed the cultural and stylistic transformation the band underwent.

Austrian guitarist John Arman was born in 1986 and spent part of his childhood and adolescence in England. He studied under Pat Martino, Peter O'Mara, and David Stryker. He toured the USA and Europe with American pianist Richie Beirach and performed with jazz artists such as Vincent Herring, Jeremy Pelt, Joris Dudli, Harry Sokal, and Jesse Davis. John Arman has released two albums and is considered one of the leading guitarists in the new generation of jazz in Austria and Europe. He frequently performs as a soloist, with leading jazz artists worldwide, and with his organ trio, which has even premiered and recorded a concerto for the organ trio written specially for him and performed with the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra. John lives in Vienna and is part of the faculty at the Innsbruck Conservatory.
