In honor of flutist and arranger Matan Klein's birthday - a festive evening dedicated to four giants of Hebrew music: Naomi Shemer, Haim Hefer, Miki Gavrielov, and Matti Caspi. Their creations have become an integral part of the Israeli soundtrack and are now receiving an original instrumental interpretation, performed here for the first time. In Matan Klein's arrangements, the beloved melodies transform into jazz and groove standards, incorporating influences from reggae, funk, African music, swing, and jazz. The result is a vibrant and captivating musical journey where familiar songs are given new life - full of rhythm, freedom, and improvisation.
Joining Matan Klein is international percussion artist Gilad Dobrecky, one of the most prominent and respected percussionists in Israel, with decades of creativity and collaborations with leading artists both locally and globally. They are accompanied by guitarist Nitzan Bar, pianist Dor Bar-On, bassist Avri Borochov, and drummer Roy Oliel - some of the finest musicians in the local jazz scene, together forming a rich, virtuosic, and captivating ensemble.
