Kanaan Al-Ghoul, a young musician from Jerusalem, began his journey of playing the oud at the age of eight. He was born in 1992 in the Silwan neighborhood near the walls of Jerusalem and grew up in a musical family with a deep appreciation for the arts. He studied at the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music (Jerusalem branch), where he was taught by the brothers Nizar and Michel Rouhana. During his studies there, he won several awards – including winning the Marcel Khalife competition three times in a row – and completed an eight-year study program. After graduating from the conservatory, Al-Ghoul continued his studies at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, specializing in oud playing under the guidance of Professor Taisir Elias.
