In this creation, the artist constructs a ceremonial space that directs our gaze to how we relate to ourselves and our environment. Central to the creation is an image of a beast that dismantles and rebuilds itself within a cycle of human structures moving between violence and comfort, indifference and suffering, to support. Through expressions of these power situations, the work allows reflection on the inherent destruction in human behavior towards animals and themselves.
Each of the four dancers has a different dance background, and together they form a foundation for a fertile movement language composed of elements from contemporary dance, urban dance, and folklore. Sadaf Stroz Boutros (Jerusalem, 1990) is an independent choreographer and dancer who combines folklore with contemporary dance. She is a graduate of the Academy of Music and Dance High School in Jerusalem, having danced with the Batsheva Dance Company and the Inbal Pinto and Avshalom Polak Dance Company. Her work is influenced by the encounter between movement traditions from the Caucasus and former Soviet territories and contemporary dance, viewing the body as a living archive of cultural identity.
Stroz Boutros has won several awards: the Minister of Culture and Sports Yitzhak Navon Award for Preservation and Promotion of Israeli Cultures for Emerging Creators 2022. The Rosenblum Prize for Performing Arts from the Tel Aviv Municipality for Promising Artists, 2024. The Bloom Award as part of The Rose International Dance Prize competition at Sadler's Wells Theatre, for her creation "Safia," 2025.
