In 2026, "Hagiga" celebrates 25 years of activity. Since its establishment in 2001, the ensemble of saxophonist and composer Alon Farber has become one of the most veteran, original, and beloved groups in Israeli jazz. Over the years, the ensemble has released six albums, performed at festivals and clubs in Israel and around the world, and developed a personal musical language that combines modern jazz, lyrical melodies, Mediterranean influences, and group improvisation.
For the 25th-anniversary celebrations, the renowned trumpeter Avishai Cohen, one of the most prominent and influential Israeli musicians on the international jazz scene, joins the expanded ensemble. Cohen will participate in the entire performance as an integral part of the group. The show will feature a selection of works from "Hagiga's" rich repertoire, alongside new pieces written especially for this ensemble, as well as original interpretations of some beloved jazz classics—combining captivating melodies, colorful arrangements, exceptional group communication, and the adventurous spirit that has characterized Farber's work for over two decades.
