A collaborative creation by choreographer and dancer Nia Bingy and artist-illustrator Ayala Meidan, bringing together flamenco dancing with dynamic painting performed in front of an audience. In this framework, both arts are deconstructed and recomposed anew while stretching their familiar boundaries: the flamenco language moves between traditional and modern, classical and personal; and the painting moves from the canvas to the stage, from the two-dimensional painted image to a three-dimensional projection on the dancing body. This interdisciplinary encounter raises questions about the real and the imagined and the permanence of our perception of reality.
Nia Bingy, born in 1996, is a contemporary dance creator who combines the flamenco language with personal and socio-political narratives. In her works, she explores boundaries, collective memory, and the tension in rhythm between beats and silence. Nia participated in the 1|2|3 program at the Suzanne Dellal Center, where she was awarded "Outstanding Painter" at the duet stage and "Outstanding Choreographer" at the trio stage and performed under this framework in Israel and abroad. She was invited to residencies in various institutions across Europe, including Théâtre de la Ville and Chaillot – Théâtre National de la Danse in Paris and was chosen for the Fabrique Chaillot program for the 2025–2026 season. Her works have been presented at festivals and theaters in Spain, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, and India.
Ayala Meidan, born in 1996, is an illustrator and artist working in various mediums and drawing a line between the intimate and political. She lives and creates in Tel Aviv, studied for a bachelor's degree in Social Work at Tel Aviv University, and works as a freelance illustrator for children and adults with various bodies, associations, and political organizations.
