"Crocodiles on the Head" (the book and the show) is a new project by the beloved Jerusalem-based March Dondurma Orchestra. This project takes you on a musical journey through the African plains, bustling city sidewalks, and the shower awaiting us all at the end of the day. The show includes musical stories for orchestra and narrator, featuring stories narrated by actor and announcer Yoav Yifat, combined with original music by three composers from the orchestra.
The stories are: "Crocodiles on the Head," a Hebrew adaptation of an African folktale, “The Tale of Cats" by A. Hillel, and "That Exact Kite," an original story by Noa Segal (daughter of Israel Segal and a drummer in the orchestra). Additionally, the project includes original songs and a new version of the beloved classic "Saturday Morning."
The show is directed by Yarden Bar Kochba ("Cloud on a Stick," “Wonder"), and the illustrations in the book are by Aviel Basil (Etgar Keret, Meir Shalev, Lea Goldberg). The "Crocodiles on the Head" show premiered in May 2019 and became a hit in theaters and bookstores.
