"Tednim Al Harosh" (Crocodiles on the Head) is a musical project by the Marsh Dondurma Orchestra that combines musical stories for orchestra and narrator. The performance includes Hebrew adaptations of African folktales and original music. The show is suitable for ages 4 and up and is designed for the whole family.
"Crocodiles on the Head" (the book and the show) is a new project by the beloved Jerusalem-based Marsh Dondurma Orchestra, taking you on a musical journey through the plains of Africa, bustling city sidewalks, and the shower waiting for us all at the end of the day. The show combines musical stories for orchestra and narrator, with stories voiced by actor and narrator Yoav Yefe, intertwined with original music by three composers from the orchestra.
The stories include "Crocodiles on the Head," a Hebrew adaptation of an African folktale, "The Tale of the Cats" by A. Hillel, and "Such a Kite Exactly," an original story by Noa Segal (daughter of Israel Segal and drummer in the orchestra). In addition, the project includes original songs and a new version of the beloved classic "Shabbat Morning."
The show's director is Yarden Bar Kochba ("Cloud on a Stick," "Wonder"), and the book illustrations are by Aviel Basil (Etgar Keret, Meir Shalev, Leah Goldberg). The show "Crocodiles on the Head" premiered in May 2019 and became a hit in performance halls as well as in bookstores.
