**Lucky Swing Jazz Band** returns to Shablul after enchanting the audience in their previous performances. This time, they are joined by one of the most recognized and beloved voices of traditional jazz in Israel - saxophonist Jess Koren, in a one-time meeting that connects the swing of New Orleans, gypsy jazz, and the timeless elegance of Parisian swing.
For over five decades, Jess Koren has been a central figure in the traditional jazz scene in Israel. His warm and expressive tenor sound naturally blends with the ensemble's sound, creating an exciting fusion of jazz traditions from both sides of the ocean.
The ensemble was founded by three childhood friends, excellent musicians who recently immigrated to Israel from Saint Petersburg and joined forces here. They combine rich musical tradition with explosive youthful energy, staying true to the spirit of classic swing while adding captivating groove, infectious rhythm, and joy of life.
For this performance, the ensemble expands its lineup with violinist Omer Ashano and saxophonist Jess Koren, for a colorful encounter between the jazz traditions of New Orleans, Paris, and gypsy jazz. Together, the quintet will embark on a musical journey through the works of Django Reinhardt, Bireli Lagrene, and Dorado Schmitt, alongside jazz classics from New Orleans and New York.
The combination of guitars, violin, and tenor saxophone revives the magic of gypsy jazz ensembles and the legendary collaborations between Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli, alongside the warmth, blues, and groove of early American jazz.
