A musical journey into the world of one of the most unique and profound creators of the 20th century, through songs of faith and doubt, love and prayer, rebuke and comfort, by the poet from Montreal, the Zen monk from Mount Baldy, and the Jew who carried his roots throughout his life - Leonard Cohen. The show moves between Cohen's songs, gently connecting them to inspirations from the world of poetry and nigun, exposing the Jewish resonance present in his work from beginning to end. The songs were selected from all periods of creation - from the early albums to the farewell album - including the monumental "Hineni," a summary song of a life of ongoing spiritual and creative search.
On stage, a group of six musicians creates a rich and meticulous musical texture, allowing a new listening experience to Cohen's songs. The performances, in Hebrew and English, intertwine with the narrative of his life - his searches, longings, and the constant tension between the sacred and the mundane, offering a glimpse into the inner world of a creator who saw words as a form of prayer and music as a way of contemplation.
